CCMC136 Anniversary

Another new challenge for me... The Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Challenge!  When I first saw this picture I knew I wanted to use the flower colors.  I had a 50th Anniversary card on my to-do list, and after seeing the gold in the inspiration and thinking of the wedding theme, this is what I created.

The base of the card is Early Espresso topped with Whisper White embossed with swirls.  The flowers were stamped from the set 'Botanical Blooms' with Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Daffodil Delight ink.  I added more color to the card by adding a wrinkled piece of Old Olive over some Ruby Red.  To incorporate the gold for the '50th Wedding Anniversary' I punched three small gold eyelets at the bottom and put a piece of Ruby Red paper behind them so the color showed through.

Happy Birthday Owl

I decided to try the ColourQ Challenge this week.

The colors were fun and I instantly thought
of using the
Owl punch and making a birthday card.

ColourQ Challenge 73

             Here is what I created!

The owl was punched out of Crumb Cake and has Brilliant Blue eyes and is wearing a Pear Pizzazz vest.  The birthday hat was stamped and cut out from 'Sock Monkey' and the stripes were colored with Brilliant Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, and Brocade Clue.  The Rich Razzleberry layer is stamped with 'happy birthday' from the 'Big Bold Birthday' stamp set.

Rochelle's Birthday!

Yesterday was my sister Rochelle's Birthday!  This is the card I made for her.  Nothing fancy or even Birthdayish, but I like it!
I love the combination of Rich Razzleberry and Rose Red, and the dotted Soft Suede DSP went perfectly!  I stamped a Mini Vintage Tag with the bird from Itty Bitty Bits and hung it on crisscrossed Rich Razzleberry ribbon and added a pearl to the flower to tie everything together and make it look finished.

Happy Birthday Rochelle!

Best Wishes

Here is my card and the inspiration for this week's

I like how 'fresh' the inspiration was this week and choose to highlight the little red in it and accent with the yellow!

I stamped the Whisper White with the background stamp from the set 'Sprinkles' and colored the flowers in using Daffodil Delight and So Saffron and the dots using Riding Hood Red.  The big flowers were cut from the Fun Flowers Die and sponged lightly with Chocolate Chip.  The Riding Hood Red piece was embossed with the Big Shot.  The two backgrounds are separated with Chocolate Chip Ribbon and I used the Modern Label punch to add the greeting.

Button Frog

I've been wanting to use the Button, Button stamp set for a while so I used it for my sister and brother-in-laws wedding anniversary card.   I stamped the buttons on Whisper White using Real Red, Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, and Elegant Eggplant.  I crinkled up and tore the edges of Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie squares and stamped the frog from 'Unfroggetable' on a circle sponged with Not Quite Navy ink.  I really like this card -it has my favorite colors and I love buttons- I hope Rochelle and Jon like it too!

Sewing!

I am really enjoying sewing and keep wanting to make super cute things- here are a couple things I made the other day.

My sister made me a pin like this before out of the Big Shot Flower Fold Die and I always receive lots of compliments when I wear it, so I wanted to make another one!

A simple and cute but useful bag!

Sweet Hello

I couldn't come up with a card I liked, then finally I created this one.  It is kindof a girly card but could be used for many occasions.  The easel card is made out of Chocolate Chip and framed with Old Olive.  I used Sale-a-Bration DSP and made the circle out of Pink Pirouette using the 2 1/2" circle punch.  I like the big bow made with Marina Mist satin ribbon and wanted to add some subtle 'bling' by adding two small diamonds, one over the whole punch to attach the 'hello' and one on the base to hold the front of the card up.

Placemats

Recently I have been wanting to sew...but I had never really used a sewing machine.  My parents helped me pick out a sewing machine last weekend and my mom gave me a quick lesson!  I wanted to make new placemats, so that was by first big project.  I picked out some cute fabric and made them double sided.  Here's how they came out!

I still have a lot to learn and need more practice, but they look super cute and are good enough for us!!

Black and Red Gerber Daisy

Stampin' Celebration Challenge 38
Time for another Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  This week I focused on the red and black color theme and the Gerber daisy in the inspiration.

The card is set on a Whisper White background topped with a Basic Black piece embossed with the 'Perfect Polka Dots' impression.  I made the daisies out of Real Red card stock using the Daisies #2 Big Shot die.  The centers are punched from black and white polka doted designer series paper.  The bottom of the black was punched with the Scallop Edge Border and was tied with Black Satin Ribbon.
This could easily be a Valentines card, but I chose to make mine generic!
